The European Sailing Fraternity has created this section in order to promote the maritime culture through an exhibition script, in order to transmit the knowledge of our members, friends and colleagues.

Each exhibition will have its commissioner in charge of the graphic and documentary content.

CHARTS FROM THE SPANICH AND PORTUGUESE COASTS OF “LE NEPTUNE FRANCOIS” (PARIS, 1693).

Abstract: Presentation of the atlas “Le Neptune François” (Paris, 1693), and specifically the Nautical Charts No. 28 and No. 29 on the coasts of Spain and Portugal.

Nautical Chart number 28 of the Northern coast of Spain to Bayonne in Galicia.

Carta costa española. Numero 28Comments:
It is a copy from the charts of Minet and Gennes who had been instructed to survey the coasts of Spain and Portugal. It was engraved on copper plate by Herman Van Loon,
who was working in Amsterdam and Paris from 1686 and consists of four parts that together, develop linearly the Northwest of Spanish coast from Hondarribia to Bayonne.

It is a copy from the charts of Minet and Gennes who had been instructed to survey the coasts of Spain and Portugal.. also recorded by Van Loon and with a lot of toponymy, of some parts of the Galician coast, from Finisterre to Tui, continuing to Gibraltar.
